The Hambledon
Hopstep Band formed in 1985, we chose the name because at
the time we could all see Hambledon Hill (near Child
Okeford) from where we each lived.
We have a
reputation for having a fun time in a relaxed and friendly
way, offering lively spirited music to well explained
dances that everyone of all ages and abilities can enjoy.
We are primarily
a 'ceilidh' band, which means a band that provides lively
folk music for country dancing, explained for you by a
'caller'. (We don't play for line dancing or country and
western or hoe-down.)
Most people go home with smiles on their faces, plus a few
previously undiscovered tired muscles!
